The Eastern Economic Forum (WEF-2025), dedicated to the theme “The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity”, is taking place in Vladivostok, on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, from 3 to 6 September 2025. The event brings together business representatives, government authorities, experts and investors from dozens of regions of Russia and abroad.
One of the central venues of the forum was the exhibition of federal executive authorities “Welcome to the Far East!”. The results of exploration and development of high—tech metal deposits – lithium, zirconium, titanium and rare earth elements – were presented at the Rosnedra stand. The department’s specialists presented the tasks for the development of the industry, showing the technological chains in which the added value of Russian products is formed.
Visitors to the stand got acquainted with the details of research projects, discussed issues of sustainable management of natural resources and participated in an interactive quiz.
On the sidelines of the WEF-2025, Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra, held working meetings with the governors of the Magadan Region, the Kamchatka Territory and the Republic of Buryatia.
Meeting with the Governor of the Magadan region
Sergey Nosov and Oleg Kazanov discussed issues related to improving the efficiency of licensing procedures, compliance with legislation, and prospects for the development of gold mining. Issues related to the development of man-made deposits were also discussed.
Meeting with the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory
The discussion with Vladimir Solodov focused on optimizing the conditions for exploration and extraction of construction sand in the marine water protection zone, which will allow the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the region with minimal environmental impact.
Meeting with the head of Buryatia
The dialogue with Alexey Tsydenov was devoted to the provision of federal funding for geological exploration of solid minerals and facilities for the reproduction of the groundwater resource base. In the future, the identification of new deposits of strategically important ores, including uranium.
The WEF sessions actively discuss the development of the mineral resource base, the modernization of licensing procedures, support for regional initiatives and the introduction of technologies that contribute to the growth of the mining industry.
