Lipetsk Pipe Company “Svobodny Sokol” has begun an important stage in the implementation of a large-scale investment project for production development. We are talking about pouring the foundation for a new machine for the production of pipes from high-strength spheroidal graphite cast iron (VChShG). The process has already started. This is the ninth installation. It will allow the company to produce pipes with a diameter of up to 1200 millimeters, which will expand the range of products and strengthen the company’s position in the market, LTK reported. It is planned to pour 530 cubic meters of concrete into the foundation of the installation. Over the past two days, builders have completed the largest volume of pouring – almost 200 cubic meters. Concrete mixers ensured an uninterrupted flow of material: one machine was unloaded, after which the next one immediately drove in. This rhythm allowed us to maintain a high pace of construction and not deviate from the schedule. The process is ongoing without interruption. Earlier, 110 cubic meters of concrete had already been poured, and there are still several stages of 40-50 cubic meters ahead. A high-quality foundation is the key to successful installation of equipment and its further operation, metallurgists note. After that, the installation of metal structures and the laying of communications – gas, water and electrical networks – will begin. “We approach each stage of construction with maximum responsibility, because the stability of future production depends on it. The project is of strategic importance. We see great potential in this area, and demand for pipes with a diameter of up to 1200 mm is already forming. Commissioning of the new machine will give our clients and partners new opportunities, and Svobodny Sokol – an additional impetus for development,” said Igor Efremov, president of the pipe company. In the near future, the company will complete key construction work and proceed to the installation of equipment. The company calls this a step towards strengthening the position of LTK as one of the leaders in the Russian pipe industry.
