INTERFAX – Rosnedra has revoked the license of Golevskaya GRK (part of Intergeo) for exploration and production of copper, molybdenum and associated components at the Ak-Sug deposit in Tuva, Kommersant writes.
The publication cites materials from the Moscow Arbitration Court, where Golevskaya GRK tried to invalidate Rosnedra’s decision to revoke the license.
According to the agency, Golevskaya GRK failed to start construction of infrastructure for the extraction of minerals on time. Failure to meet deadlines is a violation of the license.
In 2020, the Main Directorate of State Expertise of Russia issued a positive opinion on the project for the construction of the mining and processing plant at Ak-Sug. In 2021, Golevskaya GRK began construction of the mining and processing plant. The main objects of the mining complex include a quarry, waste rock dumps, a processing plant consisting of nine interconnected sites, a tailings storage facility, and treatment facilities.
As stated on the Intergeo website, the commissioning of the deposit (the start of ore mining) was scheduled for 2024. The mining and processing plant should begin producing products in 2026.
The Ak-Sug copper-porphyry deposit for open-pit mining is a priority project of Intergeo. The project is directly managed by Golevskaya GRK LLC, which is building a mining and processing plant. The planned capacity of the mining and processing plant for ore mining and processing is 24 million tons per year, for the production of copper-molybdenum concentrate – about 500 thousand tons.
