At the Nevenrekan deposit, gold- and silver-rich ore was discovered during exploratory drilling. The results of geological exploration will help to refine the data obtained. The average gold content in the ore is 15 g / t, MagadanMedia reports.
The increase in reserves is estimated at 350 thousand tons of ore and 5.4 tons of conventional gold. It is expected that by the end of the year, the reserves will double.
Since February 2024, more than 40 wells have been drilled with a depth of 100 to 310 m. Geologists have moved from a 40 by 40 m exploration network to a 20 by 20 m network. At the first stage of work, about 3 km will be drilled, then, if necessary, this volume can be increased by 3 or 4 km.
Gold will be extracted from the Nevenrekan ore at the Kubaka gold processing plant. Ore will begin to be transported to the plant in 2026.
The development of the industrial site at the Nevenrekan deposit, part of the Omolon hub, began in 2021. Open-pit ore mining began at Nevenrekan in 2023, according to Polymetal’s production results for last year.
