Energy saving rationalization proposals will allow Metalloinvest to save 68 million rubles

The results of the thirteenth corporate competition for the best rationalization proposal in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency have been summed up at the enterprises of the Metalloinvest company. Eleven proposals reached the finals of the competition: six from Lebedinsky GOK employees, three from OEMK and two from Mikhailovsky GOK. The total annual savings as a result of implementing these ideas are estimated at 68 million rubles.
At Lebedinsky GOK, the proposal for modernizing the design of steam boilers was recognized as the best. Implementation of this idea will increase their efficiency and reduce natural gas consumption by 4.5%. The expected annual economic effect from the implementation of this initiative will be more than 3.8 million rubles.
The winner at OEMK was a project to save electricity by disabling electromagnetic stirring units during steel casting. The implementation of this cost-free project will allow saving more than 3.5 million rubles annually.
At Mikhailovsky GOK, the winning proposal was for the lighting control of the enrichment plant and pelletizing plant in areas with irregular personnel presence. The expected annual economic effect will be more than 1 million rubles. The competition has been held at Metalloinvest plants since 2011 and is aimed at identifying promising ideas for the development and implementation of efficient energy-saving technologies. It also helps to increase the personal interest of the Company’s employees in rationalization activities in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency.
