The key directions for the development of geological exploration and the provision of strategic raw materials to the economy have been identified.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved an action plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Russia’s mineral resource base until 2050.
This plan is aimed at:
— Stimulating geological exploration on the territory of Russia and the continental shelf.
— Providing the national economy with scarce types of strategic mineral raw materials.
— Scientific, technological and environmental support of subsurface development.
— Training of qualified specialists for the industry.
The importance of implementing the plan was emphasized by the President of the Russian Federation in his Message to the Federal Assembly.
The main directions of the plan:
Economic mechanisms: Creation of affordable financial instruments for exploration, especially for small and medium-sized businesses (by 2025).
Work incentive: Development of mechanisms to support exploration in complex geological areas.
Technological support: The formation of a base of Russian innovative technologies and equipment for geological exploration and development of deposits.
Development of domestic software: Creation of software product lines and technologies for all stages of exploration production.
Responsible persons: the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, Rosnedra, Rosatom, the Russian Academy of Sciences and other federal ministries and departments.
Strategic synchronization: The document was developed taking into account the Strategy for the Development of the Metallurgical Industry until 2030 and the Energy Strategy until 2035.
