Deposits of ore gold and silver have been estimated at the Chukotka deposit
Exploration of the reserves of the Peppenveem gold deposit is underway in the Providensky District of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. According to forecast estimates, the gold content in the ore may reach 61 tons. Potential silver reserves are estimated at 2,860 tons, the district press service reported.
Exploration work on the site has been carried out by ArcticGeolDobycha LLC since February. During geological exploration, 12 wells were drilled, the drilling volume is about 2 thousand linear meters. 846 cores were delivered to the laboratory to assess the possibility of industrial development of the deposit.
The company expects to receive the first results of laboratory studies in November. Based on them, the investor will plan the development of the deposit for the near future. In 2025, the company intends to conduct exploration at 6 more of its licensed areas.
Exploration work for gold at the Peppenveem site has been carried out since the 1930s. The territory was recognized as promising for gold mining in 1990.
The degree of geological exploration of Chukotka is estimated at 15-32%. In 2025, the Ministry of Natural Resources will allocate federal funds for geological research in the region, according to a report from the government of the Autonomous Region.
