The second specialized conference “Real MINING” from Excavator Ru is 6 hours of airtime, 12 speakers and more than 600 listeners.
On November 19, 2024, an online conference from Excavator Ru on the mining equipment market took place, which has already become an annual event.
Among the speakers are representatives of domestic, Chinese and Indian engineering, among the listeners are dealers and companies operating special equipment from all over Russia.
What did the conference listeners learn?
Let’s list some of the facts voiced by the speakers during the event:
• In the market of heavy bulldozers in 2024, Indian BEML took the first positions, in addition to Chinese brands. Komatsu is in fifth place. In the first half of the year, more cars were imported into the Russian Federation than in the whole of last year. At the same time, for example, in the segment of excavators weighing 33-90 tons, there was a 45% drop in the first half of 2024.
• Recycling has a significant impact on sales of special equipment. And if its share in the total cost of heavy and superheavy bulldozers is not so significant, then the upcoming (within a few years) increase in rates on excavators and dump trucks may become a barrier to imports.
• Russian manufacturers occupy about 30-35% of the crushing and screening equipment market. Among the negative factors is the problem with the availability of high—quality components, which makes it difficult to introduce innovations into Russian equipment and increases production time.
• The deterioration of the drilling rig fleet of European and American manufacturers has already reached 70%. But in the case of Chinese “substitutes”, which have been in operation for more than 2 years, this figure is even higher — up to 90%.
• Special equipment is the driver of the leasing market in 2024, and this trend is expected to continue in 2025. The plans include the conclusion of contracts with both fixed and floating rates, as well as the introduction of new special programs and additional services.
• The situation with the export of container cargo from China has worsened this summer. For example, the waiting time for shipment to the regions of Russia at the Manchuria – Zabaikalsk railway crossings is up to 18-20 days or more. In July, the rates for direct railway transportation from China to the Russian Federation exceeded $7-8 thousand per container.
• Among the trends in the coming years is an emphasis on deep processing for the transition to high—value-added products; consolidation of the industry through an increase in the number of mergers and acquisitions; achieving an intersectoral balance through more active government regulation.
