Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov addressed the participants of the Aluminum Days events:
“Domestic aluminum enterprises provide employment for more than 600 thousand people with a vast geography of industrial production presence and actively create conditions for ensuring the technological independence of Russia.”
The discussion participants noted that the aluminum industry is one of the drivers of the development of the Russian economy, and the domestic market of aluminum product manufacturers is represented by a wide number of players.
According to the State Secretary – Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov, in recent years the share of the Russian aluminum industry in GDP has amounted to 1.5%, while Russia, with an indicator of 4.1 million tons per year, ranks second in the world in terms of primary aluminum production.
“Today, the domestic aluminum industry is in many ways a “tuning fork” of economic growth – per capita consumption is used to judge the level of industrial and economic development of the entire country,” he emphasized.
Consumption of aluminum in our country has almost tripled in 8 years: from 3.5 to 10 kg per capita.
