Sieve analyzers are designed for sieving bulk (granular) materials by size. They are used primarily to determine the sieve characteristics (granulometric composition) of finely crushed or dry crushed samples of ore and non-metallic minerals, their enrichment products, as well as dry soils, bulk chemicals and fine granules of various solid materials.

Less often, sieve analyzers are used in laboratory technological experiments to prepare samples with different particle sizes of raw materials. Sieve analyzers are periodic action devices.
Sieve analyzers are produced with shell diameters from 120 – 200 – 300 – 400 mm, the most popular sizes are 200 and 300 mm. Obviously, the number of obtained sieving products is one unit greater than the number of sieves in the set. Thus, with one sieve of sieving products, there are two – upper and lower (oversieve and undersieve). The required sieving time is established experimentally, based on the time to achieve a stable sieving result. Usually this time is about 10 minutes. For very fine products, this time can be significantly longer. The usual order of sieves is from top to bottom from the largest to the smallest. In very rare cases, the reverse order of sieving is used for technological experiments – from small to large. The sieving products are weighed on laboratory scales and the results are summarized in appropriate tables and graphs.
