According to the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako, “technogenic raw materials have significant investment potential”
Titanium mining at the Ariadnenskoye deposit in Primorye will begin before the end of 2024. This was reported to TASS by the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako.
“Primorye has significant explored reserves of mineral resources, on the basis of which deep processing enterprises can be built. Mining companies are the main Russian producers of boron: 100% of all-Russian production and tungsten: 80%. The share of our region in the production of polymetals and silver remains high. Titanium mining (Ariadnenskoye deposit) will begin this year – our region will be one of the main suppliers of this raw material,” the governor said.
The state balance in the region includes 56 types of minerals. “Man-made raw materials, primarily tailings from mining and processing plants, have significant investment potential. The reserves of the Primorsky Territory continental shelf are promising, including in terms of rare earth elements,” Kozhemyako added.
Titanium is used in aircraft manufacturing – in the production of gas turbines for aircraft, parts for the airframe, skin and chassis elements, in the space industry and rocket engineering, as well as in shipbuilding. It is a light metal with high corrosion resistance in alkali solutions and most acids, and it can also withstand vacuum and extreme cold.
