The head of the department, Evgeny Petrov, noted that this measure will also help non-core companies that are starting to engage in geological exploration of new types of raw materials.
Rosnedra has begun preparing a detailed feasibility study (FS) before auctions for subsoil plots, including the methodology for further extraction and processing of raw materials. The head of the department, Evgeny Petrov, told TASS about this following the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“We have changed our approach to geological exploration. Our task is now not just to find promising areas or deposits, we are also preparing a detailed feasibility study, including the methodology for further extraction and processing,” he said.
According to Petrov, the workload on Rosnedra’s subordinate institutions in preparing for auctions has increased. “But the future investor, the subsoil user who will participate in the auction, receives a detailed assessment with an understanding of what costs he will incur not only at the stage of geological exploration, but also in the future at the stage of extraction and processing,” Petrov added. The head of Rosnedra noted that this measure will also help non-core companies that are starting to engage in geological exploration of new types of raw materials. “Companies will go to auctions consciously. And we believe that this will attract large businesses to invest in geological exploration,” he continued. “And this reduces risks that are difficult to assess at the stage of entering a geological exploration project.” /TASS/
