Novak: Norilsk Nickel plans to build a platinum plant in Bahrain
Norilsk Nickel plans to build a platinum plant in Bahrain, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
“For example, Norilsk Nickel is planning to build a platinum plant in Bahrain; there are projects and agreements related to the repair of Russian ships at Bahraini shipyards,” Novak said on Channel One.
Norilsk Nickel is a diversified mining and metallurgical company. The world’s largest producer of palladium and high-grade nickel, a leading producer of platinum, cobalt, copper and rhodium. The main production units are located in the Norilsk Industrial Region, on the Kola Peninsula and in the Trans-Baikal Territory. According to the results of 2023, Norilsk Nickel reduced nickel production by 5%, to 208.58 thousand tons.
