Yakutia’s gold mining companies plan to extract at least 50 tons of the precious metal by the end of 2024. According to preliminary data, gold production in the region amounted to 12.5 tons in January-April.
The production capacities and teams of Polyus Aldan, Seligdar, Polymetal, NordGold, TZRK and Zapadnaya helped to increase the volumes.
“We are gradually and confidently moving towards the goal of strengthening our leadership and not giving up our positions,” said Maxim Tereshchenko, Minister of Industry of Yakutia.
It should be noted that gold mining figures in the region are increasing from year to year. For the first time in modern history, the republic became the second in Russia in gold production, overtaking the Magadan Region.
New large projects in Yakutia, including the Kyuchus deposit, after reaching full capacity will allow the country to strengthen its status as a world leader in the mining industry.
In addition, Seligdar continues to build a gold recovery plant at the Khvoyny industrial complex in the Aldan district. More than 35% of the total volume of metal structures has been assembled at the construction site. The creation of the Khvoyny industrial complex will provide the Holding with an annual increase in gold production of 2.5 tons.
