Norilsk Nickel reported that foreign banks refused to work with the company

Norilsk Nickel: Foreign banks refuse to service the company’s operations

A number of foreign banks refuse to accept and transfer funds for Norilsk Nickel products. This was stated in an interview with Reuters by the company’s vice president, Anton Berlin.

After the publication of the Reuters article, Anton Berlin explained to RBC that it was talking about individual banks.

“Norilsk Nickel, despite some difficulties, continues to work with consumers,” Berlin noted.

He added that a number of clients in the EU also refuse to purchase Norilsk Nickel products, citing the Finnish company Harjavalta, which produces nickel and cobalt for batteries for electric vehicles, as an example.

According to Berlin, Norilsk Nickel is restructuring its sales system.

“In such conditions, the main goal is to sell everything we produce,” he emphasized.

The vice president of Norilsk Nickel added that, given international restrictions, China has become the company’s largest sales market. According to him, the company will strive to integrate into the value chain so that it “cannot be torn out of the global economy.”
