Representatives of the industrial sector of the Eurasian Economic Commission took part in the third industry conference “Rare and Rare Earth Metals 2024” (RM and REE) and the industry conference “Copper 2024” in Moscow.
During the conference, issues of strengthening cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union and with third countries, including countries in Africa and Asia, were discussed.
Of particular interest was the report on the potential for developing deposits of these metals in Kazakhstan (the speaker was the national Kazakhstan company for attracting foreign investment Kazakhstan Invest), including the specifics of investing in projects in this industry in the republic.
To develop interstate cooperation, it was proposed to create an industry association for RM and REE in Kazakhstan.
A unique Russian technology for extracting RM and REE was also presented, which meets environmental standards and is already successfully used in the Republic of South Africa.
The key materials of the Copper 2024 conference were reports on the development of the copper industry in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as on the use of copper in green technologies.
Following the events, the participants agreed to intensify cooperation in the scientific and technical sphere, taking into account the potential of the EAEU.
