One of the first important documents for Khabarovsk Krai at the start of the Eastern Economic Forum was the agreement signed between the regional government, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and PAO Rusolovo. A representative of the mining company, the only one in the country producing tin, announced plans to meet all the needs of the Customs Union states for the precious metal by 2025.
The trilateral agreement was signed by Khabarovsk Krai Governor Mikhail Degtyarev, PAO Seligdar President Konstantin Beyrit, and State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov. The document provides for the development and implementation of a set of measures to provide the mining company with infrastructure, including import substitution of foreign equipment. The agreement will result in an increase in tin production and an increase in the efficiency of metal mining and processing, including through the creation of new metallurgical plants in Khabarovsk Krai.
“As our President Vladimir Putin notes, the mining industry is one of the key, basic sectors of the national economy,” Mikhail Degtyarev commented on the event. “Despite the difficult situation, the industry continues to invest and build large-scale projects that meet the most advanced technological and environmental standards.” In turn, the President of PJSC Seligdar Konstantin Beyrit noted that the implementation of the main points of the agreement will minimize Russia’s dependence on the import of this strategically important raw material. The production of tin in concentrate by Rusolovo alone will reach 6 thousand tons by 2025, which will fully cover the needs of the Customs Union countries.
