Russia Creates Giant Robot for Ore Mining

A Moscow company has developed a 30-ton robot for work in the mining industry, said the city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin.

According to the official, the rock breaker allows for the detection and crushing of large pieces of rock during the extraction of useful ore, including gold, iron and nickel. The hydraulic hammer, Sobyanin notes, is equipped with a remote control system, protection from collisions and impacts, and also has an automatic parking function.

In the near future, three rock breaker robots developed by Phoenix-TULS will be delivered to the largest mining and processing plant in Uzbekistan.
