Description
Design and construction of buildings and structures from light metal structures.
Load-bearing structures, the strength of which is increased by using high grades of metal or effective profiles, and enclosing elements are made of thin sheet metal with effective insulation, are called light.

Additional information:
Single-story industrial buildings with a span of 18 and 24 m are erected from lightweight metal structures. The column pitch in the outer rows is 6 and 12 m, in the middle – 12 m.
Buildings with a structural covering made of rolled sections or pipes have become widespread. The columns in such buildings are made of rolled or welded I-beams, from pipes with a diameter of 325-530 mm. Crane runways are welded I-beams. The covering is a spatial structure assembled from rolled angles or pipes. The elements of the structure are connected at the nodes using high-strength bolts, welding, hemispheres with internal threads. Trusses made of round pipes are designed for the installation of a lightweight covering made of profiled steel sheet on them.
Rafter structures for trusses made of round pipes with a column pitch of 12 m have a triangular outline. Their belts are made of round pipes, and the posts are made of rolled I-beams reinforced in places. The purlins are made of rolled channels with a cross-section height of 200-250 mm, depending on the estimated load. In necessary cases, especially in valleys, reinforced purlins can be used or consist of two channels. With a truss pitch of 12 m, the purlins are arranged as a lattice type. They have a triangular shape, the upper chord is made of paired rolled channels, and the lattices are made of single cold-formed ones. Buildings made of light metal structures are intended for enterprises of mechanical engineering, light, food and woodworking industries.
