Rosnedra is considering the possibility of increasing the one-time payment for the use of placer gold subsurface areas. This was announced by the head of the department Oleg Kazanov.
“Such work is underway. At the moment, it is not worth discussing the details of the decision being prepared, we need to wait for the final document. I would like to note that the decision will be based on serious analytical work on the results of previous licensing conducted by Rosnedra and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment,” Oleg Kazanov emphasized.
The increase in the one-time payment by 20% was proposed by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, explaining the initiative by the growing interest of investors and the increase in the price of gold.
At the forum “Russia’s Placer Gold: Development Paths, regulation, technologies” in August, Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra, noted that in 2024, one-time payments from auctions for licenses for subsurface areas amounted to 25.2 billion rubles, which was 36.2% higher than last year. Of this amount, 9.1 billion rubles accounted for one—time payments for gold-mining sites, which is 2.2 times more than in 2023.
This factor indicates a growing interest in the extraction of placer gold and has a positive impact on budget revenues.
