The NEDRA 4.0 Congress will become a platform for discussing advanced technologies that can bring mining to a new level of efficiency. The leading companies ALROSA, Uraldolomit and TiGeo will present practical cases on digitalization, optimization of production processes and creation of digital counterparts of industrial facilities.
The mining industry is one of the four key sectors of the Russian economy, along with the oil and gas industry, metallurgy and the banking system. Collectively, they form about a third of the capitalization of the Russian stock market, and mining contributes from 9 to 13% to the country’s GDP in different periods. However, according to Trading Economics, in February 2025, the volume of production in the industry decreased by 4.9% compared to the same period last year. This confirms the need to quickly find solutions to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the industry.
Among the main problems of enterprises are low productivity, difficulties in monitoring the performance of work, high risks of safety violations and an underdeveloped transport infrastructure. Without modern monitoring tools for personnel and equipment, companies face equipment downtime, KPI failure, and rising production costs.
Digitalization is becoming a solution to these problems, but the pace of its implementation in Russia is not yet high enough. A Ruksoft study found that out of 138 surveyed IT managers of mining enterprises, only 29% said that digital technologies cover most of the processes. In this case, how can we accelerate the industry’s transition to digital technologies? The NEDRA 4.0 Congress on Digitalization and Sustainable Development of the Mining Industry, which will be held on February 16-17 in St. Petersburg, will be a space for finding an answer to this question.
The event will bring together representatives of mining companies, equipment manufacturers, scientific institutes and IT developers to discuss technological solutions for the development of the industry. It is expected to discuss integrated approaches to mining enterprise digitalization, integrated platform solutions, mining planning tools, the use of 3D modeling, as well as CAD and BIM technologies in field management.
Among the speakers is Alexander Kotov, Deputy Director of Production at ALROSA, who will talk about the digitalization of the mining process and share the company’s experience. ALROSA, being the world leader in diamond mining, is actively implementing artificial intelligence to increase productivity and optimize business processes. The company is confident that integrating AI into operational processes will automate routine tasks, freeing up time for creative and strategic decisions. According to the company’s experts, the introduction of generative AI can increase labor efficiency by 20-30%.
Eduard Yusupov, First Deputy Director of Uraldolomit LLC, will also speak about mining control and optimization practices using the example of the largest Ural holding company. Andrey Shumakov, CEO of 3D-ProSkan LLC, TiGeo, will present unique technologies for creating digital counterparts of industrial facilities using the new Omnislam high-precision SLAM scanner. TiGeo is a gold sponsor of the Congress and is a key distributor of mining equipment in Russia.
In addition, PJSC Polyus, RUSAL ITC, NPP Sensor Technologies, RUPP Granit, JSC Dolomit, Artel of Miners Shakhter, Altyn Alliance, Ispring and many other leading companies of the industry will take part in the Congress.
The NEDRA 4.0 Congress is an opportunity to see successful cases of digital technology implementation, share experiences with market leaders and find effective solutions for business development. Become a part of the technological future of the mining industry at NEDRA 4.0 2026.
